In the recent years Qatari Women started their own trade using their hobbies and talents such as: cooking, styling (cosmetics) and decorating. In the beginning it was just a small business however, when the social media came along it helped so much in advertising. Now we can see a huge number of Qatari Women advertise for their products using facebook, twitter, blogs and instgram.
A lot of talents were discovered but unfortunately it couldn’t develop. Because, when those women decided to take their trades to the next level and open their own shops they didn’t receive much help from the government.
Fatima Al Sulaiti the
founder of Kaafe and one of the successful Qatari chocolatiers says that it is
hard for her to open her own chocolate shop not only because of financial reasons
but there are some other obstacles like: building permit, bank loan and
municipal license (in case of a chocolate shop) which are very hard to get in Doha.
Thus, the government should give more support for Qatari women so they can show
us what they got!
